Climate Action Certification
GMB Bronze, Silver and Gold recognise organisations that are actively assessing, improving and embedding more sustainable ways of working through the Green Means Business CORE framework.
Awarded as organisations progress through a structured programme of practical actions and supporting evidence, each level reflects a deeper commitment to environmental improvement — from understanding the current position, to implementing change, to embedding sustainability into everyday operations.
GMB Platinum Award
Certified Award by ZeroBees, a B Corp sustainability consultancy.
ZeroBees is a B Corp-certified sustainability consultancy specialising in decarbonisation, carbon accounting and environmental strategy. Its technical expertise includes greenhouse-gas footprinting, lifecycle assessment, Net Zero strategy, ESG roadmaps and sustainability reporting.
Platinum verification is provided by ZeroBees. A ZeroBees verifier independently reviews the organisation’s completed Gold work against the GMB Platinum Verification Standard. Bronze, Silver and Gold remain self-assessed CORE Achievement Awards — ZeroBees does not review individual organisation evidence for those levels.

GMB Platinum Award
Verified by ZeroBees
Platinum recognises completed Gold work that has been independently verified by ZeroBees. It is not a fourth CORE level — there are no additional Platinum tasks. A ZeroBees verifier reviews your evidence and holds a 60-minute online assessment with your team.
Platinum verification: £995 excluding VAT per practice.

Certificates
Personalised GMB certificates
When you complete a Bronze, Silver or Gold level, the platform generates a personalised GMB certificate for your organisation — with your organisation name, the award level, a unique certificate number and the issue date.
GMB Bronze, Silver and Gold awards are based on information and supporting evidence recorded by the participating organisation through the self-assessment platform. This certificate does not represent an independent audit, regulatory approval, full sustainability compliance, or certify that the organisation is carbon neutral. Valid for 12 months and subject to annual review.

Each quarter, the GMB Innovation Awards recognise three outstanding sustainability initiatives with Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards.

Recognising practical sustainability in action
The Awards celebrate sustainability initiatives that have been genuinely implemented within organisations — from simple practical improvements to ambitious new ideas.
Entries do not need to be large-scale projects. A thoughtful idea, implemented well and capable of inspiring another organisation, can make a strong entry.
